Club RulesCONSTITUTIONNow also available on-line - please click here (Microsoft Word format - opens in new window) This is on the main notice board and includes general club rules regarding behaviour/tennis kit (we just ask that players wear clean and tidy tennis gear and the right footwear). Following our Tennis Clubmark certification we have also displayed our commitment to equity in tennis and treating all members with respect and courtesy. SUBSCRIPTIONSThe Membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March. Subs are due April 1st and if you wish to enter the Wimbledon ballot (normally held first Sunday in April unless it is Easter), you need to have paid your subs (and be registered as a member of British Tennis). Existing members paying after 1st May will be penalised with a surcharge - see membership form. New members joining after October 1st will receive a discount. GUESTS/VISITORSGUESTS: Club members are allowed to invite guests. However no one person can be a guest more than three times a year. Guests/members must sign the Visitors book (in rack on main notice board) and a discretionary fee of £2 would be welcome – member to pass fee to the Club’s Treasurer or a committee member. VISITORS: Visitors are only allowed to use the Club’s facilities with the express permission of a Committee member. They must sign the visitor’s book (see above) and pay a fee of £5 per session to the Club’s Treasurer or a committee member. Any breaches of these rules are not just unfair to those who have paid their subs, but are serious because they invalidate the Club’s insurance policy. TENNIS BALLSNew balls are used in club matches and tournaments. They are then available for re-use at club sessions and for casual play. They are kept on the kitchen counter in the clubhouse. Keys to the cupboard containing new balls are held only by the team captains, the Men's captain, Ladies captain and Mixed captain - and the chairman. COURT BOOKINGSAn A3 chart showing Court bookings by coaches is usually positioned close to the seniors noticeboard corner. You can book courts for private events at quiet times usually outside the main season, in return for a donation. Ask Colin Gratton for details. Any such bookings should be entered on the chart mentioned. CLUBHOUSE HIRINGContact Judith Deck to enquire about this. We do let in the daytime. Evenings are more difficult on a weekday but for a Saturday would not be a problem. We do not have a drinks license. |
